If you truly know yourself, then you're always among friends. #QuoteADay #Day313 #edchat #edu #Lead #Learn
I'll be the first to admit that leading can be a lonely job.
There are times when, even with all the support we might have, we often feel very alone.
What's great about it, however, is if we know ourselves, then we're really never alone to begin with; we're always among friends.
I know, I know. This sounds ridiculously cheesy.
But it's true.
We've all been in situations where we make a decision that we know is the right thing to do, and for whatever reason, the support isn't there. But our resolve, our desire to do what the facts and the data tell us will benefit those we serve, allows us to make it through.
And when we know ourselves, and trust the thinking and leading that we engage in, we're more apt to be okay "being alone" every now and again.
The best leaders don't feel lonely often. But when they do, they take solace in the fact that simply by knowing their strengths and weaknesses, they can be a lone leader when it's required.
